I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday! I had quite an eventful Thanksgiving week. I was pleasantly surprised to be invited to watch President Obama speak a few days before Thanksgiving. Yes, it was live!!! It was an amazing experience.
The HoliDAY itself was just lovely. Simple, relatively relaxing, and completely non traditional.
I was doing pretty good with my eating too. I started off with oatmeal for breakfast and then ate an avocado sandwich for lunch. The sandwich even had alfalfa sprouts. I was sure not to pig out for dinner. I began with mussels and a nice mixed green salad. Then my hungry girl side took over and I had a serving of mac and cheese. Later came dessert. Homemade sweet potato pies! Yes plural. I’ve been eating that pie ever since Thursday and today is Sunday.
One of my students, who skipped class today, said he still has a turkey belly. Well, I don’t have a turkey belly, I have a pie belly:)
I am not going to fret about it. What good is that going to do???? Besides I thoroughly enjoyed every bite:) Thank goodness yoga can help a girl out. Twisting asanas are great for massaging and toning our abdominal region. Twisting poses are a must when dealing with gas, bloating and constipation.
For the past few days I’ve noticed the twisting poses are feeling more challenging. This is due to a fuller and therefore more sluggish digestive system. Do not be surprised if this is your experience too.
Most of our digestion takes place around the navel and the surrounding area. However, there are other channels in the body connected to our digestive system.
1. Center of the forearm
2. Heal bone
3. Middle of the calf muscle
I started focusing on twisting classes today and will continue throughout the week. So make sure YOGA classes are in your calendar.
Continued Celebrating,
