It is with GRATITUDE oozing from every single cell in my body that I am able to say to my dad in the flesh, Happy Father’s Day.
Wishing all the dad’s from one end of the earth to the other, a Happy Father’s Day month.
Perhaps you have a father, or a father like figure, who’s been able to guide you throughout life. If you do, you know you’re truly blessed. Several of my friend’s look up to my dad as a consistent father figure.
He’d say, “Karen (if that were your name), our other daughter!”
My dad, like many other dads, go out into the world like warriors and don’t complain.
I could never fully understand the immense amount of energy dads use to keep their family vision alive.
The standing Warrior poses are great for building a strong foundation in the legs, a strong core, flexibility in the quads, and openness in the hips.
Warrior Two is one of my favorites, lets practice!
1. With your feet together, begin standing at the top of your mat.
2. Take a big step backwards with your right leg, square your hips and shoulders to the right side of the room.
3. Stretch your left arm forwards, right arm backwards.
4. Place your right foot flat on the floor, point your right toes at a 45 degree angle toward the front of the space.
4. Very important – Back leg is strong and straight, this is your foundation. Keep your spine elongating towards the ceiling, (it may want to lean forwards).
5. Bend the front leg as much as you can, front knee and ankle in one line. Your back foot remains flat on the floor.
6. Take 3-5 deep breaths and switch sides.
Yoga Tip:
I am happy to report, dad is still practicing his yoga deep breathing exercises every morning. . So proud of you!
