One of my students asked me for help in releasing jaw tension. Great question. Very important to do.
Most of us have jaw tension on some level.
Extreme cases are caused by grinding teeth at night.
Many of us feel anxious, especially now, and without noticing, we’re clenching our jaw.
As with most imbalances in the body, there is a wide range of reasons why we hold tension in certain areas of our body.
Whatever the reason, watch now to learn 3 easy ways to release jaw tension. One or all 3 may be great for you! As always, be mindful whenever moving your body, even your jaw.
Benefits:
- Let go of jaw, tongue and neck tension
- Relieve headaches
- Release repressed emotions like rage
- Treat mild TMJ
With a relaxed jaw I believe you’ll laugh more. Hopefully you’ll feel less stressed and sleep better too!

Hi Cindi,
It’s been WAY too long. I hope you are doing well. I love seeing you on the screen even if it’s a virtual sighting. Thank you for these jaw exercises. They were super helpful. I didn’t even realize my jaw was tight until I tried them. And I love seeing my painting in your home. It brings me joy to think about the sessions we did together.
Sending love
