The other day one of my clients said, “I just have to remind myself to breathe.”
The sound of reminding yourself to breathe may sound ridiculous. We started laughing and repeated JUST BREATHE, just breathe.
Not those shallow breaths we usually take. My client needed to remind herself to take deep belly breaths so her body knows its not getting chased by a lion. No need to pump up your adrenaline if you’re really not in an emergency.
