How often do you get a chance to sit down, take some deep breaths and reflect on your life experiences?
Currently I’m blessed to be up close with the cyclical nature of life.
My sister is 6 months pregnant. It has been awesome for me to watch her belly grow, to feel baby move, and to help her prep for birth.
On the other side of the spectrum I’m also blessed to be up close and personal to my boyfriend’s mother who is living with congestive heart failure.
Hospice, tough questions and a lot of doctors appointments. Daily witnessing her physical body decay.
I’ve learned that the birth of a baby is just as awe inspiring and yes, sometimes as scary, as someone who’s transitions towards the end of their physical life.
Nature
Our hospice nurse, has become a dear friend. She brings us delicious kale, collard greens, and the most flavorful tomatoes from her garden. It truly makes our day. However, this morning she said no more veggies for now. The sun is changing. The crops are no longer producing anything close to what we’ve been noshing on.
Our hospice nurse said they’re preparing for the winter vegetables. For a second I was sad and then of course I was grateful we were able to partake as long as we did. Now I’m looking forward to what she’ll bring in the Winter.
The Duality
Of course, when dealing with human life its not that simple. There are an extreme amount of emotions. And as nature took its course,
The immense joy we feel when holding a new baby in your arms.
The heavy grief we experience of loosing a loved one.
Life’s a trip, all encompassing. Whatever you’re going through right now, it won’t last forever.
What have you dealt with that you thought would never end? Or did you get used to something awesome and the tides turned? How did you deal with it, what tools helped you navigate the transition?
Please leave a comment below, your truth could really help someone.
